
President Ho Chi Minh's three visits (1958, 1960, 1962) left the principle "learning goes with doing, the school with society" — the foundation of seventy years of teaching and research at HUST, with newly published founding documents and restored photographs.
On the first morning of Lunar New Year 1958 President Ho Chi Minh visited the University for the first time, inspected the canteen and dormitories and spoke to staff and students in the Octagonal Hall.
He returned on 17 June 1960 and 11 March 1962. His guidance — learning with doing, the school with society — became the University's guiding principle.
